The Fireworks Train, as its name suggests, is a train of special ventilated vans used for transporting fireworks. It is popular among the engines.

Biography[]

On the day of the Fat Controller's harvest fireworks display, James was given the job of collecting the fireworks from the depot. James became conceited and pulling the special train made Thomas envious. As James set off for Knapford with the train, he broke down and Thomas was sent to help. The Fat Controller almost cancelled the fireworks display, until Thomas' driver sets off a firework as a signal from Thomas and James that the fireworks display was on again^[1].

One of these fireworks vans were used as part of the Funfair Train. Thomas had collected the fireworks and the Chinese dragon for the funfair attractions^[2].

When the engines were busy preparing for the harvest festival and the fireworks party, James pulled the vans of fireworks^[3].

These vans are based on LNER 12 Ton Covered Vans.

Livery[]

These vans are painted dark green, brown and grey. The vans originally had yellow, black and red fire hazard warning logos. In the eleventh series, these logos were replaced with an illustration of a fireworks sparking behind the moon.

Trivia[]

The first TrackMaster releases of these vans are Lynton and Barnstaple Railway Vans. The 2014 release is a JNR 7000 series box van.
In the eighth and tenth series, the vans' logo was a sign of warning about being flameable, but in the eleventh series, the logo was a rocket and a moon. It could be possible that those were different fireworks wagons and not the same.
The fireworks vans have a CGI model in Train Sim World 5.
In the CGI series the fireworks train is made up of TVR Macaw G Flatbeds with large crates of Fireworks.
