The Library Train is a magazine story.
Plot[]
One day, Thomas comes across a lorry stuck on a level crossing on his branch line. Thomas can see the lorry is full of shelves with books and wonders what they are for. Thomas' driver explains that it is a mobile library that brings books to the farms and villages along the branch line. The lorry driver explains his predicament and it is not long before a repair van tows the broken down lorry away.
When he makes it to the station, Thomas explains what has happened to The Fat Controller who, in turn, contacts the garage and returns with an idea. While the lorry is being repaired, Annie and Clarabel's seats are modified to host book shelves and Thomas will bring them and the mobile library driver along his branch line so any of his passengers can borrow books if they would like.
