The Lost Coach is a magazine story.
Plot
One day, Gordon is once again boasting about how fast and fine he is. Duck replies by saying that Gordon may be the fastest but he is not the best looking and begins to boast about Great Western engines. Gordon huffs away and Duck says to himself how proud engines need to be taken down a valve or two.
Gordon begins to collect his coaches when an engineer informs him that the brake coach's coupling is being troublesome. Gordon is sure he can handle it but the engineer still wants to be sure it is safe.
Gordon begins to steam away but soon forgets about what the engineer had said and soon the coupling comes loose. The guard tries to inform Gordon but Gordon gets too far away to hear. Gordon is not even aware of the coach's disappearance when he turns around for his return journey but gets quite a surprise when he finds the coach sitting alone on the other track. The passengers on-board are shouting angrily at him. Then Duck arrives with a goods train which he drops off in a siding and then pulls the coach away, leaving Gordon feeling very silly.
