The Magic Buffers

The Magic Buffers are an old set of buffers located by Diesel 10's Mountain and the Sodor Wishing Well on the Rescue Centre Branch Line. The buffers send anyone through the Magic Railroad.

History

Thomas and Percy were discussing while delivering the mail how Mr. Conductor travels between Sodor to his hometown. They figured out that there must be a set of buffers that goes through a secret railway, which Diesel 10 overheard and told Splatter and Dodge that they must find the buffers and destroy Mr. Conductor once and for all.

Gateways

Two tunnel portals are known as gateways: One tunnel in Shining Time Station and the other is Burnett Stone's Workshop. Another entrance appears to be located in a meadow near the bottom of Muffle Mountain.

Trivia

In the original script, Diesel 10's original motivation was to just smash all the buffers so the steam engines could derail.
The buffers are illustrated as crossing gates in the Thomas and the Magic Railroad Book.
On an earlier version of Sam Wilkinson's map from 2014, the buffers was located west of Kirk Ronan. This was retconned to its current location by the time of the Mark 11 version of the map.
