The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, also known simply as the United Kingdom, is The Mainland of Sodor, accessed via the Vicarstown Bridge. It constitutes of four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It also consists of many small islands, such as the Isle of Man.
Did you know? According to Simon Spencer, the Mainland was intended to appear in a cancelled special, where it was envisioned as being a non-specific country inspired by various Asian cultures, rather than the United Kingdom as it is depicted as in the rest of the series.
