The Maintenance Yard is a large repair yard near Tidmouth Sheds. Carly and Sandy live and work here.

History

The Maintenance Yard is home to a number of workshops and sheds, as well as an engine wash and a loop-de-loop. In the middle of the yard is the main maintenance shed, where engines and rolling stock are often repaired. The yard also has a storage shed for Sandy's collection of spare parts.

Thomas and Carly once set up an obstacle course around the yard, including tight bends, steep hills, a shed dressed as a tunnel, and a jump over a mud pit.

It was also in these yards that Thomas first encountered Boxy. Boxy was later converted into a repair hut for the Maintenance Yard - after an accident at Crumble Canyon left him unable to be rebuilt as a boxcar again - and is now stationed here permanently.

• The back of the box for the Motorized Fix 'Em Up Friends set states that the Maintenance Yard is located at Knapford rather than Tidmouth. This may have been an early concept for the yard which was later changed.
