The Rescue is a magazine story.
Plot[]
Edward enjoys taking trucks to the harbour. He usually passes the airfield where Harold lives and, when the signal is red, the two have chats. One day, Edward asks Harold what it is like to fly and Harold begins boasting. Edward gets annoyed with Harold and tries to convince him that engines are better and they begin to argue. Harold then flies away, leaving the two in a bad mood.
Edward makes it to the harbour and is then turned around for his return journey. Edward then spies a young boy playing at the edge of the quarry, who he speculates had climbed over the fence. Edward is about to inform his driver when the boy disappears suddenly. Edward's driver runs off and returns quickly, informing Edward that the boy is now trapped on a ledge.
Edward - completely forgetting his argument - tells his driver to call for Harold. Harold arrives and a rescue worker is winched down to help the boy. The boy has broken his arm but refuses to be flown to the hospital as he is afraid of flying. Harold knows Edward passes the hospital on his line and lets him transport the boy. The next day, Edward and Harold make up and agree both are useful for different reasons.
