The Road Plane

The Road Plane is an invention created by Ruth. It resembles a car, with the wheels, wings, a tailfin and a jet thruster from an aeroplane.

Biography[]

When Sir Robert Norramby first flew the road plane over the Island of Sodor, Thomas, Percy and Rebecca all followed it to Ulfstead Castle, where they first met Ruth.

Following this, the road plane flew over Sodor with a banner to advertise The Technology Fair. The banner was later used as a tactic to slow down Baz and Bernie when they stole Kenji, with Sir Robert Norramby flying the road plane so the banner ended up in front of Kenji's cab.

According to Ruth's Meet the Characters! video, the road plane is made out of aluminium, which makes it light enough to fly.
