The Sodor Cup is an event held on the Island of Sodor every year. Engines come from all around the world to race across the island making different deliveries as they go.

One year, Gordon raced in the Sodor Cup, even winning the tournament

• Hiro's Race

One year, Hiro raced in the Sodor Cup. Hiro later went on to train new contestants for the Cup.

• Kenji's Race

One year, Kenji won the Sodor Cup, with training from Hiro.

• Thomas and Kana's Race

In the latest Sodor Cup, Thomas and Kana were teamed up after Kenji got hurt. Thomas filled Kenji's place, and, with training from Hiro, Thomas and Kana finally worked together to win the tournament.

• According to the special, Race for the Sodor Cup, at least seventy-seven Sodor Cups have taken place.
