Technical Details[]
Basis[]
The steam crane is loosely based on those that operate the Chatham Dockyard. These cranes designed to haul wagons around the dockyard railway system as well as lifting goods as required. They were built by Grafton Cranes Ltd at their Vulcan Works in Bedford, and were delivered to the dockyard in the 1930s and 1940s.
Livery[]
In the annuals, the steam crane is painted yellow with black lining, a red crane arm, and hazard stripes on its lower front. In the magazines, the steam cranes are generally painted greyish brown.
