The Ticket is a magazine story.
Plot[]
Thomas loves working on his branch line. As he travels between stations, the guard asks for tickets from the passengers and punches them. One day, however, a man can not find his ticket. He searches all over but nothing is found by the time Thomas reaches the next station.
The guard tells the man that he will have to get off the train if he can not find his ticket. Finally, the man remembers where he left the ticket. He was using it as a bookmark. There is more trouble though as the ticket is assigned for the harbour, not Thomas' branch line. The man is very worried but he gets off the train and goes to find a way to get to the harbour. Thomas is now running a bit late but he soon makes up for lost time.
