Plot[]

The book teaches children about colours.

In the Korean version of the book, Bill and Ben's names were painted on them in Korean.

Thomas' extended side tanks are very long.
James is missing lining on his splashers. In the final illustration, his buffers are incorrectly shown to be oval shaped as opposed to circular and his number is also missing.
Alaric and his coach do not appear to have wheels.
The tracks are missing sleepers in some illustrations.
Alaric's side tanks are straight.
Alaric is missing many details, including:
- His nameplate.
- His lining.
- His funnel cap.
- His cylinder.
Annie and Clarabel's buffer beams and running boards are orange instead of grey. Also, one of them is missing a coupling.
Harold is missing his name.
Both of Bertie's mudguards are red instead of black and his eyebrows are also missing.
Bill and Ben are missing their siderods and eyebrows.
Edward's wheels are black and part of his boiler is also black when they should be blue.
In the last illustration, Toby is missing his eyebrows and Edward's funnel is smaller.
