Thomas & Friends: Adventures! was an app made by Mattel for iOS/Android/Amazon systems. This app also offers in app-purchases. A birthday edition of the app was released on 19 May 2020 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the franchise.[1]

The app was discontinued on 1 October 2023.

Trivia[]

  • The events of Big World! Big Adventures!, the twenty-second series episodes, Thomas and the Dragon, Thomas and the Monkey Palace, Outback Thomas and Thomas' Animal Ark, and the twenty-third series episodes, All Tracks Lead to Rome, Mines of Mystery and Batucada serve as the bases for the playable stories in each country. Some alterations made to each story include:
    • In the level based on Thomas and the Monkey Palace, Ashima is the one that tells Thomas that his truck of coconuts is empty instead of Charubala, despite Ashima not appearing in this episode.
    • In the level based on Thomas' Animal Ark, Rosie is the one sent to collect the new boiler for the Animal Park instead of Emily. This was likely to include a way to unlock the character through the gameplay, despite Rosie not appearing in this episode.
    • An extra section is added to Outback Thomas where he attempts to catch up to Tamika, thinking she is Shane, whilst taking Shane's passengers around the Outback, despite Tamika not appearing in this episode.
    • In the level based on Batucada, Raul is the one who tells Thomas about the music rather than Gabriela, despite him not appearing in this episode.
  • This is currently the only piece of media to refer to Kobe and Carter by their names.
  • The boat used in the game is the same one used for the TrackMaster Boat and Sea set.
  • This is the first game to feature every member from both the original and reformed Steam Team.
  • Fernando has Flynn's original horn sound and Natalie has Stafford's.

Goofs[]

  • In the level based on Thomas' Animal Ark, Edward is mistakenly used at Tidmouth Sheds instead of Gordon, despite Edward not appearing in this episode.
  • Toby has Flora and Lady's bell sound.
  • Emily has her Calling All Engines! to Series 12 whistle sound.
  • Salty has a higher-pitched version of his Series 8 horn sound.
  • Beau shares Bert and Rebecca's whistle sound.
  • The diesel engines and Gustavo make chuffing sounds despite being diesel and electric engines respectively.
  • Due to the game's stylised graphics, many of the larger engines have different wheel arrangements than those used in the show:
    • Gordon, Yong Bao and Rebecca are 4-6-0s rather than 4-6-2s.
    • Sam is a 2-6-2 rather than a 2-6-6-6.
    • Vinnie is an 0-8-0 rather than a 4-8-4.
    • Shane, Nia, and Lorenzo are 2-6-0s rather than a 4-8-4, a 2-6-2, and a 2-8-0 respectively. Ironically, Nia would end up being a 2-6-0 in the 2021 reboot, Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go.
    • Merlin is a 4-4-0 rather than a 4-6-0.
    • Tamika's coach has 2 wheels rather than 4.
    • Noor Jehan is a Bo-Bo rather than a Co-Co.
    • Gustavo is a 4-6-4 with one pantograph rather than a 4-8-8-4 with two pantographs.
  • Ace runs on railway tracks instead of roads.
  • The diesel engines have steam above them in the racing segments, despite them being diesel engines.
