Thomas and the Film is a magazine story.
Plot[]
There is great excitement in the yard one day as a television film crew is coming to film the railway. Gordon, Daisy and Henry begin boasting about how much they deserve to be the star of the show. Thomas pipes up and wonders if he could be chosen but Gordon just scoffs, saying the producer would not want a small engine.
Thomas sets out on his branch line and although his driver says to ignore him, Thomas fears that Gordon may be right. Thomas then has to stop at a level crossing because a van has broken down. It turns out that the van belongs to the television studio and Thomas' driver offers the crew a ride. The crew accepts and loads their equipment into Clarabel.
The producer is invited into Thomas' cab to be shown how Thomas works and Thomas works as hard as he can to make sure he is not late. When Thomas finishes his run, the producer compliments his hard work and decides to change his film's subject from tender engines to running a branch line with Thomas as the star!
