Thomas and the Guard is a magazine story based on the episode of the same name from the first series of the television series.

Plot[]

Thomas is very proud of his branch line, thinking that it's the most important part of the railway. One day, he has to wait for Henry's train which makes him cross as time passes and Henry still does not arrive. When Henry finally arrives, Thomas starts off so quickly as he's so impatient and he leaves the guard behind on the platform. After stopping at a signal, everyone finds out that the guard is not in Clarabel. They then see the guard running up the line and stop for a drink. Thomas apologises and they reach the end of the line quicker than ever before.
