Thomas and the Rainbow (Volume 16) is a South African DVD featuring three ninth series episodes narrated by Michael Angelis.
Description
Thomas & Friends return with brand new adventures which feature everyone's favourite engines as they go about their work on the Island of Sodor.
Episodes
- Thomas and the Rainbow - There has been as storm, and Thomas's job is to take some workmen to fix the telephone lines. On the way he sees a beautiful rainbow, and when Edward tells him that something magical is supposed to be at the end, Thomas becomes transfixed. He chases the rainbow across the island - passing Percy and some children. Suddenly Thomas hits a telegraph pole and comes off the tracks! Thomas sees Percy puffing away and feels bad. Thomas is very grateful to his friends. He stops chasing the rainbow and soon his work is done. When Thomas finished his work, he finally finds the end of the rainbow - it was right over Tidmouth Sheds! There was something magical at the end after all - his friends!
- Respect for Gordon - When Gordon's firebox develops a rattle, the other engines tease him, calling him the "Click Clunk Express". Embarrassed, Gordon decides that the other engines need to show him more respect. When he tells the other engines to give him a polite "toot toot" as he passes, Emily refuses. This makes Gordon cross, causing him to miss a stop signal, plough into a goods train and get covered in sticky red jam. The other engines tease Gordon again as he gets pushed off to the fitters yard for repairs. When the other engines have to do Gordon's work for him, they find it's a lot harder than they thought.
- Molly's Special Special - Molly is a new engine on the island. Molly is given the job of taking empty trucks back to the coaling plant. She feels silly and wants to take full trucks like a really useful engine. Thomas has an idea. The next day, with the help of the yard manager, Thomas arranges for all of Molly's trucks to be cover in tarpaulin, so that everyone thinks Molly is carrying a very special load. Thomas puffs over the island, spreading the news about Molly's extra special load, until everyone is talking about it
