Thomas and the Snow Land (Japanese: トーマスと ゆきのくに) is the fourth book in the Thomas X Japan series.

Description

Thomas visits Hokkaido to help Hiro's friends with their work. He works enthusiastically, but it looks like there will be heavy snow the next day...

In this fourth installment of the original Japanese story, Thomas joins forces with new allies, including the Hokkaido Shinkansen and a snowplough.

  • The book was originally planned to release on 14 October 2025, but was pushed back to 16 October 2025 for unknown reasons.[1]
  • In association with this book's release, JR Hokkaido ran a stamp campaign between 1 November 2025 and 3 March 2026.[2][3]
  • Thomas meets Kaito, who is a Shinkansen, at Sapporo Station. At the time of the book's release, however, the Hokkaido Shinkansen Line has yet to reach Sapporo, with the extension to the station not planned to finish construction until 2038.
  • In the illustration of Thomas' cab interior, the original toy of Thomas created for Christopher Awdry can be seen on the shelf above his firebox door. Additionally, photographs of Annie and Clarabel - Thomas' coaches - also appear taped to the wall above his backhead.
