Thomas and the Windy Day is a magazine story.
Plot[]
It is a very gusty Autumn day on Sodor and Thomas complains that the leaves blowing around is making it hard to see. At the station, Annie and Clarabel are uncoupled and The Fat Controller comes to see Thomas. Suddenly, a large gust of wind blows The Fat Controller's hat away. Thomas eagerly offers to help him get it back and rushes off.
Thomas almost catches up with the hat until he comes to a red signal and has to stop. Gordon passes by and Thomas informs him about the hat. Gordon points out the wind is dying down and Thomas can probably catch up with the hat. Thomas' signal changes and he hurries off again but he can not find the hat anywhere.
As he rounds the bend, Thomas sees the hat perched on a signal but suddenly, the signal drops and so does the hat. It lands right in front of Thomas. Thomas stops suddenly and the hat vanishes from his sight. Thomas hopes he did not squish the hat but his driver climbs down and pulls out the hat from between the wheels, perfectly intact. Thomas is pleased and sets off back to the station.
