Thomas in a Hurry is a magazine story.
Plot[]
One day on Thomas' branch line, Thomas' first train is late and the passengers are still waiting. Thomas is in his shed, feeling unhappy, as his driver has not yet arrived. Thomas' driver soon comes running to the shed, informing Thomas that his clock had stopped working overnight. Thomas, Annie and Clarabel soon hurry to the station.
When they arrive at the station, the passengers are telling The Fat Controller what a bad railway it is. The Fat Controller tells Thomas he will have to work hard to make up for lost time but not to go too fast or he will have an accident. Thomas sets off as quickly as he can and by the time he reaches the end of the line, it is already time for his return journey. Thomas soon grows very hot with all his rushing around.
When he finishes his run, The Fat Controller is very pleased as Thomas is right on time but Thomas is far too hot to notice and goes for a drink, where his driver promises him that he will buy a new clock right away.
