Tidmouth Yard Sheds are a set of three engine sheds in the yards next to Tidmouth station.

History

These sheds originally housed the three steam engines of the Ffarquhar Branch Line when they were not shedded in the main roundhouse at Tidmouth. The trio would only be seen there during the second series, and all three engines would permanently be relocated elsewhere by the eighth series.

It was in front of these sheds that Oliver would be pushed into the turntable well by some Troublesome Trucks.

Trivia

• The sheds were based on Ffarquhar Sheds from The Railway Series, however are located in Tidmouth Yards instead of at Ffarquhar.
• Despite the sheds being used by the engines of the Ffarquhar Branch Line, they are actually on the Main Line, with Thomas' Branch Line only beginning at Knapford.
  • In the second series, Tidmouth is sometimes erroneously referred to as the terminus for Thomas' Branch Line, likely due to the branch line sheds being located here.
• In the third series, a turntable is added in front of the sheds.
• Though the sheds do not appear in episodes past the third series, they do appear in several animated learning segments between the eighth and tenth series, albeit made fully of brick and with no windows.
