==History==
Toby's old line was located somewhere in East Anglia, [[The Mainland (RWS)|England]]. The railway ran through farms past fields and villages, ending at a station where the line junctions with the main line to [[London (RWS)|London]] and elsewhere. Toby, with his coach [[Henrietta (RWS)|Henrietta]] and luggage van [[Elsie]], used to work on the railway delivering goods from the farms to the junction or other stations, starting around or shortly after 1939 when he stopped working at the harbour he used to live at with [[Minor Locomotive Characters (RWS)#Toby's Brothers|his brothers]]. The line also took passengers. Some time during the early 1950s, Toby's line went bankrupt, due to the [[Lorries (RWS)|lorries]] and [[Buses (RWS)|buses]] taking over most of the work. When the line closed, Toby, Henrietta and Elsie were sold to [[Sir Topham Hatt (RWS)|the Fat Controller]] to assist [[Thomas (RWS)|Thomas]] with trains on the [[The Quarry Tramroad (RWS)|quarry line]].
