Toby's Special Surprise is a magazine story, illustrated using photographs from the television series.
Plot
Toby is sent to his shed whilst all the other engines are given special jobs. Toby is told to collect some workmen, but tries to find something special. He is so busy he forgets that he is low on coal and shortly after collecting the workmen he runs out. He gets the workmen to bang their hammers on an old piece of metal beside the line. After Toby is rescued, Rocky picks up the scrap metal which turns out to be a sign for the old Great Waterton tram shed!
