Trivia
- Going by production order, this is the nineteenth episode of the twenty-third series.
- This is the only episode where all the Italian characters appear.
- At one point, Thomas breaks the fourth wall when his singing shatters the "screen." This marks the first time in the Big World! Big Adventures! part of the franchise where he has done another fourth wall break besides talking to the viewers.
- This episode marks the final appearance of Stefano.
- John Hasler did not record any singing for the fantasy sequence, and Joseph May's audio was used in both dubs.
- The fantasy sequence is a reference to the Italian opera, Pagliacci.
- On the Nick Jr. US airing of this episode, it was paired with Lorenzo's Solo.
- This episode and Lorenzo's Solo are the final episodes to date to have aired on the Nick Jr. Channel in the US, on 27th December 2019, before Nickelodeon lost the rights to air Thomas & Friends at the end of 2019.
Goofs
- In the close-up of Lorenzo before Thomas starts shouting, Thomas is not beside Lorenzo.
- When Thomas leaves Lorenzo and Beppe at the junction, we do not see the points switch for Thomas or Lorenzo.
- After the fantasy sequence, the coal hopper behind the water tower disappears.
- Antonio Magro is credited for voicing an "Archaeologist," however, none of them spoke. He was also uncredited for voicing the washdown workers.
