The Toronto Santa Claus Parade is a parade held on the third Sunday of November in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. First held in 1905, it is one of the world's oldest annual parade and one of the largest parade productions in North America.
A large-scale replica Thomas from Thomas & Friends made its sole appearance in the parade in 2005, with Treehouse TV serving at its sponsor. The replica was built around a frame which gives the illusion that Thomas is steaming down the parade route, similar in concept to the Shining Time Station replica. The replica features rotating wheels and side rods, as well as moving eyes and steam coming out from his funnel.
Starting in 2015, Mattel Canada introduced a Thomas & Friends float in celebration of the 70th anniversary of The Railway Series. The float featured a large stationary replica of Thomas, as well as models of Percy and Rosie coming out of a tunnel. The float returned in 2016 and would subsequently be retired.
