Toys "R" Us is an international toy, clothing and baby product retailer. In March 2018, the company filled for bankruptcy and began liquidating its stores after operating for 70 years. The company would emerge from bankruptcy in January 2019 under Tru Kids and has begun re-establishing the brand through both individual retail locations and as store-within-a-store locations within Macy's department stores.
Toys "R" Us sold Thomas & Friends exclusives from toy lines such as Wooden Railway, Take-n-Play and other merchandise within its own dedicated section. In 2014, they became the exclusive national chain retailer of the Wooden Railway range. In 2017, the Wood range was first released exclusively to Toys "R" Us stores in the US and Japan.

- Several banners and replicas of Thomas and Percy that were originally used for display were purchased during the comapny's liquidation.
- The flagship store in New York's Times Square featured a large Wooden Railway rendition of the Island of Sodor for customers to interact with.
- Several versions of the table would appear before the store's closure, with one iteration originally being preserved at EnterTRAINment Junction in Ohio before being sold to YouTube user Thomas Critical.
