Many different types of trailers have been featured over the course of Thomas & Friends.

Terence's Plough[]

Terence has a plough used to draw over soil to turn it over and cut furrows in preparation for the planting of seeds.

Livery[]

Between the first and fifth series, the plough is painted black. In the sixth series, it was repainted dark blue with red alloys.

Sam's Cart[]

Sam the Farmer owns a cart which he uses to transport lime. When it got stuck at Crowe's Farm Crossing, Percy accidentally crashed into it. In a deleted scene, it can be seen being pulled by Terence.

Trevor's Trailer[]

The Vicar of Wellsworth owns a dark blue trailer, which was used for Trevor to haul children for joyrides.

  • The top section of the model used for Trevor's trailer is removable, allowing it to be converted into a flatbed trailer.

The Hay Cart[]

The Hay Cart is a wooden cart which can often be spotted in the hay fields.

George's Trailer[]

George was once seen hauling a dark green trailer. It was used to help assist in road widening works.

Butch's Flatbed[]

Butch is accompanied by a flatbed used in rescue and recovery operations.

The low loader is painted dodger blue with silver wheel alloys.

Trevor's Cart[]

Trevor is often seen pulling a brown cart used for hauling apples and hay. Donald and Douglas once crashed into the cart full of hay after the cart's wheel had fallen off while crossing the railway tracks. Later, Gordon smashed into the cart while Trevor was pulling the cart loaded with apples for the children's apple bobbing.

The cart was also seen being hauled by a dark blue tractor.

Pegasus' Cart[]

Pegasus, a horse, pulls a red and dark blue cart used for fêtes to give rides to the children.

The cart is painted red with black wheels, blue interior and white frames.

Nelson's Low Loader[]

Nelson is accompanied with a low loader used to carry construction workers and The Pack to and from work sites. The low loader has a winch used to haul vehicles on the loader.

The low loader is painted in Nelson's livery of black with cream and red lining and red wheel alloys.

Isobella's Trailer[]

In early concept art for Jack and the Sodor Construction Company, Isobella is depicted with a four-wheeled trailer. A model for the trailer was made and can be seen in ruler reference photos, however it was never used in any of the released episodes of the series. Despite not appearing in the series, the trailer was featured with her Wooden Railway toy.

The Prop Trolley[]

The Pack once used a prop trolley to carry wooden props needed for holding up the Lightning Tree.

Sir Topham Hatt once used a caravan while on-site during the construction of the Sodor Search and Rescue Centre. The caravan was later seen at a construction site when Darcy first came to Sodor.

Flynn's Road Trailer is a small trailer used for responding to emergencies via road. The trailer is used to store extra water and firefighting equipment such as hoses, ladders and axes.

Flynn's Rail Trailer is a large trailer used for responding to emergencies via rail. The trailer is used to store extra water and firefighting equipment such as hoses, ladders and axes.

Flynn's rail trailer is both painted in the same livery as him: red with yellow lining. It has the Sodor Search and Rescue Centre logo on the back.

  • Although Flynn's rail trailer has buffers and a coupling, he is never seen using it to pull rolling stock.

Butch's Low Loader[]

Butch has a low loader used for rescue and recovery operations. It was once used to carry Thomas after he derailed.

The Green Trailer[]

Willie the farmer owns a green trailer for carrying wool. Once it once toppled over, spilling wool across the tracks near Arlesdale Green and causing Rex to have an accident. During winter, it was once used by Terence to carry trees. After some ice in a pond cracked, trapping Terence and the trailer, it eventually sunk.

In Journey Beyond Sodor, it can be seen being pulled by Trevor at the orchard.
