Trevor Takes a Trip is a magazine story. The second part of this story is called Back Home.
Plot[]
Long ago, Trevor used to work on the farms, threshing corn and hauling logs, however nowadays he lives in the vicarage orchard. Sometimes, Trevor longs to be able to go and do work away from the orchard again, such as the time he helped the Fat Controller construct a new harbour.
One day, Thomas is passing by the orchard. He tries to cheer Trevor up by reminding him of the church fĂȘtes and his trip to the seaside, however Trevor still feels depressed as he rarely gets to go out.
A few days later, when Thomas is passing the orchard again, Trevor tells him that his driver has received a letter inviting him to take part in a traction engine rally on the Mainland. Trevor wants to go, however he is scared of getting wet and rusty on the boat. As Trevor is rather nervous, Thomas reassures him that he will take him to the harbour himself.
At the harbour, a crane lifts Trevor onto the boat. He is still a little scared, however he is also happy to be going to the show. As Trevor leaves, Thomas wishes him good luck.
