Tri-and-a-Half-a-Lon is the fifth episode of the second series of Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go.
Plot[]
The engines are revved up for their homemade obstacle course event known as the Tri-and-a-half-a-lon. During practice, Nia worries that she's never been able to beat the timer, but Sandy and Carly encourage her to keep practicing before the event the next day.

Trivia[]
- Going by production order, this is the fourth episode of the second series.
- Kana chasing after the butterflies was a reference to the All Engines Go Short, Kana and the Butterflies.
- According to Chuck Smith's mother, this is his favourite episode.
- Diesel's love for ducklings is similar to the original series episode, Diesel and the Ducklings.
- This is the third episode to have an engine cry into tears. The first two being the first series episodes, A Wide Delivery and Nia's Surprising Surprise.
- This is the first Bruno appearance without help from Daniel Share-Strom or Monique Moreau.
Goofs[]
- In some shots after she collapses over the finishing line, Nia is missing the top half of her cylinders.
- After Thomas rings the bell at the start of the episode, Gordon's right smokebox frame is layered over his cylinder pipe and wheel-arch, and his lamp is missing.
- As Nia gets ready to start her run on the obstacle course, her front wheels are incorrectly layered behind her chassis before she turns around.
- When the timer's whistle blows during Nia's first run, Gordon's tender disappears.
- In a few scenes, Sandy's top stripes are missing.
- In the far shot of Vicarstown, Gordon is missing his lamp and the grey on his running board.
- When Nia races towards Lookout Mountain, the track that Sandy and Carly are on is cut off.
- When Thomas and Percy look at the sunset disappearing, in one shot, Percy's funnel is missing.
- When Nia passes the junction to Norramby Beach, the Windmill is missing its sails.
- When Nia says "I'm gonna beat that clock!", Gordon's rear buffers are layered over his tender.
- In the second-to-last scene, Gordon's cab is crooked.
