Trouble for Duck is a magazine story.

Plot[]

Duck greatly enjoys working at the harbour and being by the sea. The only thing that can spoil his enjoyment is when Diesel helps him, as he is always trying to cause trouble. One day, Diesel teases Duck by making quacking sounds. Duck gets very cross and tells Diesel he hopes he falls into the sea and rusts, which Diesel is greatly offended by.

Diesel then begins lying to the trucks by saying Duck plans to treat them badly and bump them. The trucks decide they will bump Duck first and ask Diesel for help with this. When Duck returns to begin shunting, Diesel give the trucks a hard shove into Duck, which ends up causing them to overturn. The harbourmaster scolds Duck for causing the accident. Diesel thinks he is very clever for getting Duck in trouble and he begins to treat the trucks roughly. The trucks try to tell Diesel to stop but Diesel will not listen, leading the trucks to feel sorry for Duck and they plan to teach Diesel a lesson.

When the harbourmaster comes to check on Diesel, the trucks end up bumping into each other hard and spill their loads. The harbourmaster figures out that Diesel was responsible for what happened earlier and reports this to The Fat Controller, who shuts Diesel up in his shed. Duck is very relieved and goes back to working in peace.
