Trouble with Water is a magazine story.
Plot[]
One day, Percy is taking trucks to the quarry when he comes across Bertie at a level crossing. Bertie's radiator has cracked and he is now unable to continue with his work. Percy is glad he never has trouble with water as he can always fill up with more.
A week later, The Fat Controller tells Percy to take Thomas' passengers while he is away at The Works. Percy is happy to help and first stops at a water tower for a drink. Unknown to Percy and his driver, the water tower has very little left inside. Percy continues on with an almost empty water tank.
As Percy carries on with his work, he suddenly gets an awful pain in his boiler and starts going slower and slower. Percy stops so as not to do any damage but there is unfortunately no water around to fill his tanks with. Luckily, Bertie passes by on the road and collects Percy's passengers. Percy now knows never to tease anyone with water troubles again.
