Troublesome Vans are enclosed pieces of rolling stock which transport goods on the North Western Railway. Many different types of Troublesome Vans have been seen on the Island of Sodor and the Mainland.

BR 12 Ton Vans[]
BR 12 Ton Vans are a type of Troublesome Van.

The BR 12 ton vans are based on the real BR 12 ton covered vans with corrugated ends that were used on British Railways. These vans were originally built with plywood sides, later additions were built with steel.
Livery[]
These vans are painted in various shades of brown with grey rooftops. The U.L.P. van is painted in the company's livery of pink and with their initials painted on the sides of the van in white.
