Ulfstead is a mountain village located north-west of Ffarquhar, near the centre of Sodor. It is famous for the nearby Ulfstead Castle.

History

Ulfstead is connected to the North Western Railway via a line from Arlesdale End, which connects the village to both Toby's Branch Line and the Ffarquhar Branch Line.

As the village itself is set deep within the mountains, it is susceptible to being snowed in. Once, Harold had to drop hot food and drinks for the villagers during Christmas. The line leading to the town was cleared by Thomas and Percy, who also brought Terence to clear the village itself.^[1]

Trivia

According to one storyboard for the fifteenth series episode Percy the Snowman, Ulfstead was intended to appear in the episode but was later cut for currently unknown reasons.
The halt building was reused from the goods platform from New Harbour.
Ulfstead Street in Columbus, Ohio, is named after the town.
