Hello all! My name is Seamus, and I'm an admin here on the Thomas the Tank Engine Wikia! If you don't know me already, this section will tell you a little about who I am!
I first came across Thomas (as most do) as a small child. My father rented one of the old VHS tapes for me (I think it was Better Late Than Never and Other Stories) and I was hooked at once! From there I collected nearly every VHS Tape and DVD up to the end of Season 7. In addition, I had several volumes of the Railway Series in the old Thomas the Tank Engine Book Club, so I was familiar with the origins of the TV Series.
I rediscovered Thomas around 2008 when I was browsing YouTube (looking for something entirely different) and ran across some of the old Thomas episodes I knew as a kid! I rediscovered all the old stories I knew, and began to take interest in the Railway Series books I hadn't known as a child, mainly Christopher Awdry's volumes. Right around this time I discovered the Wikia though a YouTube comment, suggesting some user check the Wiki for more information on a given episode.
In 2010, I began making regular edits on the Wiki and before long, I found myself contributing every day! It was, however, the old Wiki forums (The New Thomas and Tugboat Forums then), were what really brought me into the community. Here I made friends with Thomasfan, ZEM, SteamTeam, OliverandToad13, and Toby7 to name a few and really got a great sense of community and fun!
Years passed and I kept editing and editing and I eventually became a chat mod. After a year or two as a mod, I became an admin on the site, a position I am still honored by. I took the job very seriously and checked nearly all edits each day with Thomasfan to help make sure the site stayed accurate and consistent. It was (and is) a hard job, but I get a great deal of satisfaction in seeing this site grow, change, and expand nearly every day! I like where we've come in the community and the reputation we've gained, and I'd like to think I played a small roll in that reputation.
I resigned my admin/bureaucrat duties in September 2017. I am currently an SiF moderator, and active on Twitter (@SkarloeyRW01)! So you can still get in touch with me there!
