The Vicarstown Branch Line is a short industrial branch line of the North Western Railway near Vicarstown.
Route[]
Sam Wilkinson Map[]
The line begins a few miles west of Vicarstown, where it splits from the Main Line and travels a short distance north to the Dieselworks junction. The western line goes through a tunnel leading to the Dieselworks. The line going east, meanwhile, passes the Sodor Ironworks and continues to Vicarstown, where it runs parallel to the Skarloey Railway across a viaduct and into the yards.
Trivia[]
- On most versions of former Railway Consultant Sam Wilkinson's map of Sodor produced between 2014 and 2015, the branch line is much shorter and only serves the Dieselworks. On versions of the map from 2016, it is much longer and also includes the Sodor Ironworks along its route.
- In the very first version of the map, the line instead travels south and also includes Diesel 10's Mountain, Sodor Wishing Well and Sodor Racetrack. This version of the line also joins to the Norramby Branch Line north-west of Ballahoo.
