==History==
In the third and fourth series, Vicarstown Yards is managed by [[British Railways (T&F)|the Other Railway]] and is the changeover point for the [[North Western Railway (T&F)|North Western Railway]]. It was here that [[Donald and Douglas (T&F)|Douglas]] discovered [[Oliver (T&F)|Oliver]] and [[Toad (T&F)|Toad]] and saved them from scrap.{{Ref|[[Thomas & Friends|T&F]] [[Series 3|S3]] #21 "[[Escape]]"}} Later, [[Rusty (T&F)|Rusty]] would revisit the yards and save another engine, [[Stepney (T&F)|Stepney]], from the scrap line.{{Ref|[[Thomas & Friends|T&F]] [[Series 4|S4]] #15 "[[Rusty to the Rescue]]"}}

Since ''Journey Beyond Sodor'', the yards appear to be fully owned by the North Western Railway. Around the time she was repainted red, Rosie was reallocated here to work as the yard shunter and station pilot.
