The Walney Channel is a large body of water separating the eastern coast of the Island of Sodor from the Mainland.
Two bridges cross over the channel. The first is the Vicarstown Bridge, erected by the North Western Railway in 1915. In 1977, a second bridge - the Jubilee Bridge - was built to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee, providing more direct road access to Sodor.
