Well Wagons are a type of rolling stock similar to flatbeds, albeit with a lowered section in the middle. They are used for transporting loads that would otherwise be too tall for a normal flatbed, such as heavy machinery, vehicles and engines.

GWR Crocodile G Well Wagons[]
GWR Crocodile G Well Wagons are the most common type of well wagon found on the North Western Railway. Some of these are fitted with rails allowing them to carry either standard, narrow or minimum gauge engines and rolling stock.

These well wagons are based on the Great Western Railway's 35 Ton Crocodile G well wagons.
Livery[]
These well wagons are generally painted grey with a brown deck. Between Day of the Diesels and the sixteenth series, some well wagons were seen in rusty brown and olive green colours.

Aviation Well Wagons[]
The Aviation Well Wagons are designed to transport aircraft, such as Harold. Thomas once used these well wagons to transport a dinosaur model to the new dinosaur park in the book, Thomas and the Dinosaur.
