Weta Digital

Weta Digital (now known as Wētā FX) is a CGI animation and visual effects company headquartered in Miramar, Wellington, New Zealand and founded in 1993.

Weta Digital was going to supply the CGI special effects for The Adventures of Thomas. This was so until the film project's severe delay when they announced they were no longer part of the project. When questioned at the time, HiT Entertainment countered that the project's status was still undetermined. It was eventually cancelled after being pushed back several times and Mattel's acquisition of HIT Entertainment.
