Plot[]
One evening, Thomas is resting in his shed after a busy day on the Chinese Railway. Hong Mei is still busy as she has to pull the mail train. This reminds Thomas of his best friend, Percy, who pulls the post train back on Sodor. That night, Thomas dreams of Percy coming to China and showing him all of the wonderful sights. The following morning, Thomas still misses his best friend as he puffs off sadly to start his work. Hong Mei knows a way to cheer Thomas up.
There is going to be a dragon boat race on a river near the railway. Hong Mei tells Thomas that if he were to take her passengers to the race, he'd be able to stay and watch it. Thomas is excited and rushes off, but comes to a sudden stop when he spots what he believes to be a real dragon on the line. Thomas plucks up courage and approaches it, discovering that it is only one of the racing boats.
The boat has fallen off Yong Bao's train and the race cannot start without it. Yong Bao starts to get worried. Just then, Thomas arrives at the starting line with the missing boat. Yong Bao is delighted that he will not get into deep trouble and the race can go ahead as planned. Thomas just wishes that Percy could see the race, too. Hong Mei suggests that Thomas sends a postcard of the race to Percy.
The postcard soon arrives on the Island of Sodor. Percy reads the card and smiles; he misses Thomas, too.
